In the world of architecture the Aldaco name is synonymous with coastal architecture. His signature is unmistakable: open or partially open spaces so one never loses contact with the sun, moon or breeze, indigenous materials and methods of construction (such as the quintessentially Mexican palapa style), and a communion between interior and exterior spaces via the use of locally made ceramics and weavings as well as furniture and murals of mythic Mexican imagery, many created by Aldaco himself.

Lauded as “Mexico’s most revered architect” (Robb Report, Summer 2005), Aldaco is a member of Architectural Digest’s “AD 100 Club” for lifetime achievement. Not surprising since he has been the “go-to guy” for families like Guinness, Onassis and luminaries from the world of media and industry.
